Pediatric Dentist FAQ

Q: What is a Pediatric Dentist?

A: Pediatric dentistry is the specialty of dentistry that focuses on children’s oral health. After completing four years of dental school, an additional two to three years of rigorous training are required to become a Pediatric Dentist. This specialized hands-on training prepares pediatric dentists to diagnose and treat infants, children, and adolescents, including those with special needs.

Q: At what age should my child first visit the dentist?

A: The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children see a dentist soon after getting their first tooth.

"Get It Done In Year One!"

Dr. Spruill and his team help show you and your child how to take care of their teeth and we send all patients home with an oral health kit.

Beginning oral and dental examinations early helps detect tooth decay early, when it can be easily treated. Scientific research supports the value of early dental visits as more effective and less costly than delaying dental care for your child.

Dr. Spruill and our Pediatric Dental Team show our young patients that a visit to the dentist can be fun while helping them to build self confidence and a healthy smile.

Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Garrett Spruill joined Greenbrier Dental Center in July, 2010 to serve the needs of our young patients.

At Greenbrier Dental Center, we are proud to offer a full range of services to our young patients including routine care and specialized services.
